A heartbreak is a difficult experience for everyone, and it can be especially challenging to get over it when you are struggling to get out of bed and start your day. However, creating an early morning routine can be an effective way to help you overcome a heartbreak and start moving forward. In this blog post, we will explore why having an early morning routine is important, and how it can help you get over a heartbreak.
First of all, it is important to understand that a heartbreak can cause a wide range of emotional and physical symptoms, including depression, anxiety, fatigue, and sleep disturbance. When you are dealing with these symptoms, it can be very difficult to motivate yourself to get up and start your day. That’s why an early morning routine can be so helpful – by giving you a structured, purposeful start to the day, it can help you build momentum, focus your thoughts, and feel more energized and motivated.
Tips for Creating an Effective Morning Routine

Here are some tips for creating an effective early morning routine that can help you get over a heart break:
- Get up at the same time every day: Establishing a consistent sleep schedule is one of the most important steps in creating an effective early morning routine. When you get up at the same time every day, you will start to feel more rested and energized, which can help you tackle the day with a positive attitude.
- Engage in physical activity: Exercise is a powerful tool for improving your mood and reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Whether it’s going for a morning run, doing yoga, or simply taking a walk around the block, physical activity can help you clear your mind and start your day on a positive note.
- Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is a powerful technique for reducing stress, improving focus, and increasing overall well-being. You can start your day with mindfulness by meditating, doing deep breathing exercises, or simply taking a few moments to be present in the moment.
- Focus on self-care: Self-care is an important part of getting over a heart break. Incorporating self-care activities into your morning routine, such as taking a relaxing bath, reading a book, or journaling, can help you start your day feeling refreshed, centered, and focused.
- Surround yourself with positive energy: Spending time with positive, supportive people can help you overcome a heart break and start to feel better. Whether it’s reaching out to a friend, attending a support group, or simply being intentional about the types of media you consume in the morning, surrounding yourself with positive energy can help you start your day on a high note.
In conclusion, creating an early morning routine is an effective way to help you get over a heartbreak and start moving forward. By incorporating activities that improve your mood, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being, you can start your day feeling refreshed, centered, and motivated.
Heartbreak Storytime

I used to be a morning person until my breakup. During the trying times, as I tried to save what was left of the relationship, I was only getting about 3 hours of sleep a night, and some nights, I didn’t sleep at all.
Breakups are tough and can take a physical and emotional toll on you. Despite the difficulties, I continued to wake up early every morning, even if it meant just having coffee and going back to bed. This allowed me to sit with my emotions and process my feelings.
However, during the early stages of my breakup, my mornings were filled with pain. I would wake up before my alarm, feeling overwhelmed and wondering why God hadn’t taken me in my sleep. Tears would fill my eyes, and my heart felt shattered. I often found myself in the kitchen, making coffee and going back to bed with hot cup in hand and tears rolling down my cheek.
During these moments, I would talk to God and myself, asking for strength to get through the day. I would then turn to my journal, writing down my feelings and thoughts until it was time to get ready for work.
Over time, I added meditation, prayer, and yoga to my morning routine, and slowly but surely, the pain started to subside. I realized that mornings were for me to take control of and set the tone for the day.
Now, even on weekends, I still wake up early, as there’s something special about the quiet of the morning and the time to focus on myself. My journaling, prayer, and meditation are still part of my daily routine, and I’ve come to master the mornings as a way to heal and grow.
